We have been having some noise problems with our neighbors. Now, I’m not against healthy interaction among peers, but is it really necessary to congregate outside someone’s dorm until sunrise? Glaring at the culprits until they felt uncomfortable worked, but it was tiresome after a while. I hope this doesn't become a regular thing. I can’t go to bed with a headache every night.

I've not heard from my brother since I left for Nidozaki. I wonder how he is.

I've worn down one good eraser on this last project, which had to be restarted twice. And no matter how thoroughly I wash up after each session in the art studio, the feeling that I am walking around covered in a layer of charcoal dust just doesn't go away.

Portraits have always been that difficult for me. Having the technical skill to emulate facial features is one thing, but capturing the essence of a person on paper? Conveying an actual living, breathing, human being? Another story entirely.

Maybe I should have chosen a different subject for this assignment.

Dear Prankster:

Thank you so much for your help this morning. Though it was a bit earlier than my usual waking time (five hours to be exact), I am sure that you had only the best intentions for me and the other inhabitants of the dorm. A blaring fire alarm at 4 am, along with standing outside barefoot in the cold for half an hour is just what was needed to ensure that I would not oversleep and miss class. Once again, thank you. I do hope to meet you one day, so that I may learn your name, face, and room number. I would like to forever keep you in my memory for your kindness.

Best Wishes,
Kuchiki Rukia

After a discussion with the dean and my advisor concerning my transfer credits, I was able to register for the semester.

By "discussion," I mean an hour and a half of haggling.

All things considered, I'm rather satisfied.

So I finally moved in. This campus is quite beautiful. At my last school there was no place that one could relax outside, not even one decent tree to sit in. Here there are many and I fully intend on trying each one out. I'm also very impressed with the facilities in the art building; I can see myself spending much of my time there comfortably.

I haven't met my roommate just yet, though it does look like she's moved in. From looking at her belongings, I do... wonder what kind of person she is.
